Ehimwenma Joyce Iyamu is a senior Philosophy major/Writing minor at Spelman College. Originally from Houston, Texas, Ehimwenma Joyce enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her friends and colleagues. As president, E. Joyce plans to initiate an agenda of change that addresses student concerns, improves the relationship between students and the administration, and fosters sisterhood, service, and custom. Her goal for Spelman is a better community in which she provides her favorite quote, "the world is before you and you need not take it or leave it as it was when you came in."- James Baldwin Presidential Advisor Jessica Davenport is a junior Political Science major/Writing minor at Spelman College. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Jessica enjoys reading, playing tennis, listening to music and going out with her friends. When choosing the presidential advisor position Ms. Davenport wanted to help shape the Spelman Student Government Association in its change as a governing body . Jessica supports, believes in, and wants to bring forth the agenda/platform of President E. Joyce Iyamu. Her goal for Spelman is success in which she provides her favorite quote, "which can say more than this rich praise, that you alone are you." -Shakespeare Presidential Advisor Kelly Mitchell is a sophomore English major at Spelman College. Originally from New Jersey, Kelly likes to listen to music, shop, and read. When choosing the presidential advisor position, Ms. Mitchell wanted to be an active member of the Spelman Student Government Association Executive Board. In doing this, she can help implement change for the betterment of the Spelman community. Her goal for Spelman is unity in which she provides her favorite quote, "the secret of success is constancy of purpose." -Benjamin Disraeli Vice President Asha Camille Jennings is a sophomore Political Science major/Writing minor at Spelman College. Originally from Sacramento, CA, Ms. Jennings enjoys musical theater, swimming, mentoring, socializing, and watching basketball. When choosing SSGA Vice President, Asha wanted to influence the first year students in taking ownership and responsibility for the future of Spelman. She also wanted to work with the House of Representatives who implement change for the betterment of students. Her goal for Spelman is prosperity in which she provides her favorite quote, "that which doesn’t kill me makes me stronger." Vice Presidential Advisor Loren Robinson is a senior French/Pre-Med at Spelman College. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Ms. Robinson likes to read, write poetry, and travel internationally. As vice presidential advisor, Loren hopes to help the Spelman community move toward developing a more progressive, pro-active spirit and attitude. One word to describe her goal for Spelman is revolutionary in which she provides her favorite quote, "love is all hope." Vice Presidential Advisor Michelle Francis is a sophomore English major/Philosophy minor at Spelman College. Hailing from Queens, New York, Ms. Francis enjoys reading, watching comedies, and serving her community. She chose the vice presidential advisor position with an aim to assist in developing and implementing a more reliable system of communication between the student body, student government, administration and faculty members. One word to describe her goal for Spelman is "action," in which she provides her most favorite quote, "a great leader is one who is able to transform vision into reality." Treasurer FloJaune Griffin is a junior Chemistry and Comparative Women Studies double major at Spelman College. Residing in Pittsburgh, PA, Flo loves to read, watch movies, create arts and crafts, ski, hike, and camp. When choosing the position of SSGA treasurer, Ms. Griffin believes that her ability to make sure that finances are well taken care of will be a great asset to the Spelman Student Government Association Executive Board. In her opinion, her talents of being able to manage money effectively will contribute to ensuring that the needs and issues of students are addressed. Her goal for the Spelman community is progress in which she provides her favorite quote, "instead of dying to move on to the next stage of your life, enjoy living where you are, for tomorrow is not promised and life is about living, not dying." Secretary Candace Jackson, a native of Columbia, SC, is a Senior English major/Philosophy minor at Spelman College. Ms. Jackson enjoys reading, traveling, playing the violin, and spending time with her family and friends. She chose the secretarial position because she desired to help maintain and progress the necessary relationship between the Spelman Student Government Association and the students and faculty of Spelman College. One word to describe Ms. Jackson's goal for Spelman is opportunity, which she believes is the key to success; her favorite quote, "the Greatest Achievement of the human spirit is to live up to one's opportunities, and make the most of one's resources." Originally from Queens, NY, Candace’s favorite activities are debate, public speaking, and serving the community. Ms. Barriteau chose the position of parliamentarian because she understands the need for an order while conducting business, and feels she possesses the necessary characteristics to "keep order" in any setting. Candace enjoys organizing and overseeing Market Friday and believes that she will be very effective in this position due to her excellent people skills and hard work ethic. Her goal for the Spelman community is extensive in which she provides her favorite quote "to whom much is given, much is expected." Social Chair Danielle Tillman is a senior Mathematics major at Spelman College. Ms. Tillman resides in Knoxville, TN, but is originally from Chicago, IL. She enjoys drawing, painting, and listening to music. In choosing her position as SSGA Social Chairperson, Danielle wanted to have an impact on the social atmosphere at Spelman, and wanted to have help revitalizing the Sisterhood in the Spelman Community. One word to describe her goal for Spelman is different. She lives by the quote, "when I was a child, I spoke as a child, thought as a child, understood as a child. Now that I am a man I have put away childish things." Publicity Chair Tarsha Ward is a junior Biology/Pre-Med major at Spelman College. Ms. Ward resides in Hickory, North Carolina and is originally from Charleston, SC. She enjoys reading, pursuing artistic endeavors, and enhancing her abilities in her perspective career choice. In choosing her position as SSGA publicity chairperson, Tarsha wanted to use her creative abilities to further unite the Spelman community with communication. One word to describe her goal for Spelman is "nurture," in which she provides the quote "Leaders are like eagles, they don’t flock, you find them one at a time." Senior class Representative Mia Ligon is a senior Psychology major at Spelman College. Residing in Michigan, Mia loves cooking and being active in community service. Her reason for choosing senior class representative was to play an active role with the senior class. Her goal for Spelman is success in which she provides her favorite quote " life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it." Junior Representative Sherrie Herriott is a junior Economics/Pre-law major at Spelman College. Residing in California, Sherrie likes to tap dance, read and spend time with friends and family. She chose this position because she wanted to help keep the class of 2004 involved with the change that SSGA is making on Spelman’s campus. Her goal for Spelman is change in which she provides her favorite quote "if one woman could turn the world upside down, then together we can turn it right side up." Sophomore representative Bianca Bellinger is a sophomore Political Science major at Spelman College. Originally, from Columbia, SC, Bianca loves the arts and enjoys reading, playing the piano, writing and traveling. Her love for working with people, and a desire to work for the improvement of the Spelman community inspired her to become SSGA sophomore class representative. One word that describes her goal for Spelman is to "revolutionize," in which she provides her favorite quote "this above all, to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." - Shakespeare
